The Returned Missionaries

We made another trip up to Utah mid-September to welcome home Brad's parents from their mission in Russia. We had been looking forward to this event for a long time and couldn't wait to finally introduce them to our Hadley whom they had never met. The week was full of time with the Holbrook family as it was the first time we had all been together again since before they left. I didn't take too many pictures, but did manage to grab a few of some of the highlights. I think the girls' favorite part was having a cousin sleepover with Grandma Holbrook and being invited to a princess tea party with her. Grandma and Grandpa Holbrook also brought some flying lanterns home from Russia and surprised us all one night when we got to light them and see them fly. The adults also got to spend one weekend in Aspen Grove without kids (thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Draper who agreed to babysit overnight).  Stan and Mel and Brad and I took advantage of our time in the mountains with a hike to Stewart Falls.  The colors were breathtaking and it was the absolute perfect time of year for a hike in the mountains. It was a lot of fun to be back together again, and we had the added bonus of not having to say goodbye at the end since Grandma and Grandpa got to come to ABQ to visit us at the end! (More on that to follow. . .)

Trying out some new things. . .

I got to help take some pics of a wedding yesterday.  A classic, old-fashioned backyard wedding.  It was a lot of fun for me, especially since I was just an "extra" photographer.  It was in the middle of the day so I was worried about the lighting, but I think I got some great shots anyway.  You can check them out on my photoblog here and let me know what you think!

Walking Hads

Most likely only the grandparents will be interested in these, but I figured I needed to take a few videos of her walking before she was too comfortable and walking like a "regular" person.  She took her first steps in the airport on our way to Utah two days after her birthday.  Since then she has been practicing a lot and improving her balance day by day.   Just this last week I have noticed a big change in her and she is now preferring walking to crawling.  I love those baby frankenstein steps!
