Number 4

We are excited to share the news that another little angel will be joining our family this Fall.  Our original due date was November 4th, but they switched it after a dating ultrasound at 11 weeks showed us further along and now we are going off of our new due date of October 28th.  Brad took a sneak peek about a month ago and found out the baby was a girl, which was again confirmed at my 20 week ultrasound this past week.
The baby looks healthy so far.  There has been a little concern because the heart has looked more "tilted" than it should, which usually means there is a mass in the lungs or some other defect in the anatomy of the heart that is making it shift to one side.  I was scheduled for a follow up in July to figure out more about what was going on, but given the fact that all the MFM folk at UNM are pretty invested in Brad, they actually made time in their schedule to do it again on Friday.  Everything looked great then, still a tilt in the heart, but nothing abnormal that would explain the reason behind it, the anatomy of the heart looks perfect, so most likely everything is just fine.  We will do another ultrasound in a month with a pediatric cardiologist just to make sure, but we are going off of the fact that as of right now things are fine.  I really feel at peace with it all and am not concerned, but it is nice to know that through Brad's residency we get a little bit of extra special care for things like this.

Watching her on ultrasound so many times now though, has certainly made me super eager to hold her and get to know her!

Red River Camping

We went camping with some good friend this past weekend in Red River, NM.  It was such a fun little ski resort town in the mountains and we enjoyed great weather and great company.  We went with our friends Antoinette and her family, the Burks, and the Wrights.  I didn't take too many pictures--especially of the group--but I never seem to when we are camping.  I guess I'm hesitant to get out my nice camera too much with the dirt and grime we are all covered in.  Plus, I don't want to miss out on all the fun myself just cause I'm behind the camera!
We took a Razr ride (the Burks have one) up to Goose Lake, played in a bear cave, went fishing, hiked and got lost, ate campfire food, and everything else that camping is supposed to be about.
We're hoping to go out again one more time this summer if we can squeeze it in with all of Brad's interviews!

I enlisted the help of my sister-in-law, Melanie, to get a few new pics of our family one evening in the Outer Banks. . .

Kitty Hawk

We spent the one rainy day we had at OBX at Kitty Hawk and visited the museum there.  Brad and I had been a number of times when we lived in Virginia, but the girls hadn't and everyone else wanted to go so we tagged along.  Brad, being the good and fun Dad that he is, made sure the girls each got to experience the flight distances to the 4 markers that point out the Wright Brothers first flights and their distances.  He carried each one as airplanes down the field--the girls loved it!
