We spent a glorious week in the Outer Banks of North Carolina with Brad's family right before Memorial Day. We stayed in a beautiful beach house right on the ocean that was plenty big for our large group complete with our own private beach access, private pool, hot tub, and all the amenities you could dream of to keep the kids occupied when we were inside and not playing on the beach. It was the perfect atmosphere for cousins to play and grown ups to catch up. We all enjoyed ourselves so much on this wonderful trip! We can only hope and dream that someday we will be able to go back again.
One of the highlights was a treasure hunt, complete with treasure map that let the kids to a treasure on the beach. Great Grandpa Johnson told all the kiddos about the treasure he hid when he was a little boy visiting the Outer Banks and the kids were able to find it. Such fun!
Ella stole Grandma's book one afternoon and spent the next hour or so reading by the pool. . .
A BIG thanks to the Holbrooks for putting this trip together and making it all possible!
