Ella had her 7th birthday while we were in Utah this year. Is 7 the year when little girls get all grown up? We felt like it was for our Ella. She did not ask for a single toy for her birthday. Instead she wanted a maxi dress, maxi skirt, and high-heeled shoes (which she got from Grandma H.). To celebrate she wanted to take her best cousin, Emily, out for manis and pedis and lunch. Whatever happened to our little girl who now apparently has such grown-up wishes?
Daddy and Mommy gave her a new bike for her birthday--complete with handlebar brakes and gears-- since she had outgrown her last one. She was able to get that present a week early, since we didn't want to worry about hauling it up to Utah with us. Maggie gave her a maxi dress, Hadley a maxi skirt, and Myla gave her the Little House book set. She requested Hawaiian Haystacks for dinner, same as last year. She did not want cake for her birthday (just like her mom, she is not really a big fan of cake), but she requested donuts and Neapolitan ice cream---which was a wonderful request given the fact that I did not have my own kitchen to fix in.
Happy Birthday to our big girl! I think, for at least her 7th birthday, we were able to get everything she was dreaming of!
