We have been saying a lot of goodbyes to good friends this summer. The hardest was when our dear friends the Austins moved for a job in South Bend, IN. They were our first friends when we moved here and invited us over for dinner right after we moved in, even though they had a brand new baby. I will always remember that kindess. Cami and I bonded instantly as we made the connection that her Dad was once my jr. high seminary teacher and we shared a mutual friend from high school. Ella became best buds with their oldest two, Annie and Ethan. We have thoroughly enjoyed their friendship throughout these past four years and will miss them so much. We hope our paths will cross again in the future.
The kids made them cards to say goodbye and we had all four of their kids over for a playdate while the truck was being loaded. Ella bough a "BFF" necklace for Annie with her own money so they could remember each other across the miles. Tears were shed by both. We have had wonderful friends here in ABQ!
A few weeks before the Austins left, Ella also had to say goodbye to her best friend from school, Haley. This is two years in a row now that Ella has had to say goodbye to her best friend at school as they have moved over the summer. We hope this is a trend that will not continue!
