Easter morning, the girls woke up and came in our room. Brad still wasn't home from work since he had the 30 hour weekend shift, and Ella informed me that she "didn't know why the Easter Bunny hadn't come". Upon further investigation we discovered that the Easter Bunny had locked all of the Easter baskets in the office and left a magic key with Daddy and that we would all have to wait until our whole family was together before we got to see what surprises were in our Easter baskets. When Maggie discovered where the Easter baskets were she yanked and yanked on the doors and cried her little eyes out because she couldn't wait and she simpy needed to get to those baskets right away! It took a lot of consoling, but eventually I got her to calm down, eat breakfast and get ready for church. Daddy got home just in time for the girls to discover what was in their baskets before we headed off to church. What a relief!
Ella was SO happy to get Tangled--she has been wanting it for SO long and Maggie didn't care about anything except the candy in her Easter Egg--that girl has got the BIGGEST sweet tooth!
In the evening we were able to have a nice family dinner, complete with my Grandma's famous "Hot Cross Buns" (which I made myself for the very first time), watch a video and talk about the Resurrection, and go on a nice long walk with our family. Happy Easter everyone!
