Moving on. . .

The weather has warmed up a bit here and we are ready for Spring!  Brad has left us for 3 weeks while he is doing an Maternal Fetal Medicine in Denver.  We spent the weekend before he left doing a lot of family activities, including a picnic at the park.  It is Spring Break for Ella next week and lucky for us we have some dear friends who live in Ft Collins who are going to let us come stay with them for some fun away from home with their family and some Daddy time over the weekend.  My girls are so excited!
For those of you who aren't aware, Brad has decided to do a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine which means instead of finishing residency next summer and getting a real job, we are back to the process of looking at and applying to programs across the country and then completing another 3 year fellowship.  Brad will be sending in his application this month, interviewing (assuming programs are interested in him) this summer, and then we will find out where we are going in October.  It is a match process just like with residency, where we will rank our favorite programs, the programs will rank us, and then we will end up with whatever program with whom we have the highest mutual admiration.  The idea of moving on is exciting again, but we are definitely hoping that we end up being able to still stay somewhere out west where we are closer to family.  And there is also a BIG part of me that cannot wait til we can just get a job, settle down, and start putting down roots.  Sometimes it seems like that will never happen, but it's got to someday, right?  Through it all, we just hope that we end up where we are supposed to and that we will be drawn to the programs that are a better fit for Brad as a doctor, as well as the best place for us to continue to raise our family.

Heather! That is so exciting! I was so thankful for the MFM docs (and my dad) for helping get my Brookie here safely. Congrats to Brad and good luck!!
