Birthday Celebrations

We had a fun time celebrating Maggie's birthday.  Daddy had to work that day, so me and the girls celebrated by taking Maggie shopping to pick out what she wanted with some birthday money from her Grandma and Grandpa Johnson, followed by lunch at Chik-Fil-A (her favorite).  We had to wait til Daddy got home to do presents, which of course made the day feel like forever to this 4-year-old.  We made her favorite dinner of puffed pancakes with strawberries and whip cream, followed by her cake request this year (strawberry).  It was certainly a sweet filled day!
She was so excited to open each and every present and made us laugh at her excited giggles over the simplest of them (a bag of pistachios).  Thanks to all of those who sent presents and called with birthday wishes to help make our Maggie feel extra special!

The day after her birthday we held Maggie's first birthday party with friends.  We called it her "favorite things" birthday party and invited her favorite people to enjoy Maggie's favorite lunch (Mommy's homemade mac n cheese with strawberries) and go and get her favorite treat (Menchie's Frozen Yogurt).  I must admit I was a bit worried about the craziness of taking all of these 4 year olds to Menchies with just Brad and I to supervise, but we gave them bubbles to play with on the patio and then took turns picking out yogurt flavors and it all went much more smoothly than expected.  It was a fun weekend to celebrate our Maggie!

So glad Maggie enjoyed her bday! Heidi was really fun too and loves that her and Maggie are 4. You should bring Hotel Transylvania to OBX. It is a great movie!!

Looks like a fun party! I can't believe you're four already. See you soon in Raleigh and then at the beach! Love, Grandma H.
