Bowling

We have started doing family date nights for each birthday we are celebrating. This week is Maggie's birthday so last weekend we went on a family date out to dinner and then decided to try our hands at bowling (Maggie's choice of activity for her birthday). It was the first time our girls had been bowling, and while we were there Maggie kept asking us when we were going to leave and go bowling. I'm still not sure what exactly she thought bowling was, but she definitely didn't think we were doing it! I guess what she had in mind for her birthday date was a bit different, but what she had told us was that she wanted to go bowling so that is what we did.
We went for a glow bowling session and the girls loved dancing to the music with the disco lights. They didn't have the ramps for the bowling balls there and Maggie insisted she could bowl all by herself.
It took us SO long! In two hours we were only able to play a game and a half!   I swear to you, each time Maggie rolled the ball down the lane it took at least 2 full minutes and Brad and I would just laugh trying to guess if the ball was still moving or if it had in fact stopped all together. Many times the rack would come down before the ball made it down, and there were also a few times that the ball actually hit the pins, but moved so slowly that the pins did not fall over! SOOOO FUNNY! There were also a few instances of bowling in someone else's lane, but our lane neighbors were all good sports about it and were thoroughly entertained by the bowling clinic our girls put on. It was nice to have a family date in honor of our Maggie and we are excited to celebrate with her more this week!
