Since Ella's birthday was on a Sunday and Daddy didn't have to work, she got to open up her presents in the morning. She was SO excited! She got a new, bigger bike from Mommy and Daddy and a little desk for her to "study" on now that she is going to be so big and starting school soon. She was also showered with wonderful presents from Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, and she loves them all--so thanks everyone for remembering her, it means a lot to us when we are away and not able to do the usual celebrations with family closeby. For her birthday breakfast she requested scrambled eggs, toast, and smoothies. And for dinner she requested her all-time favorite Hawaiian Haystacks. (It's nice for me that her meal requests are pretty simple!) For her cake she wanted something with fruit and after I showed her a number of cake options she decided on raspberry-filled vanilla cupcakes with pink frosting. It was the first time I had ever piped filling into a cake, but it turned out great! She said she had a great birthday and was very happy--SUCCESS!
